Forensic psychologists play an instrumental role in availing different information about the motivations and rationale for the adoption of specific tendencies by a given group of people. Execution of ethically compliant research or working with other professional calls for observance of specific principles that reflect morality and respect for the people under study as well as other psychologists. For the study population, just like in the article, it is critical to consider the issue of informed consent by the respondents. According to Shaver (303), an informed consent confers legitimacy to the process of data collection, especially when working with sex workers. Through the consent, the respondents affirm that they are conversant with the different aspects of the study, especially its purpose. As such, an informed consent ensures that the data from the respondents is not collected against their will, which reflects upholding of the respect for autonomy principle.
