Disability Right Ohio (DRO) is one of the most outstanding disability advocacy organizations in the state of Ohio. It is the federally recognized not-for-profit organization offering Client Assistance Programs for persons with disabilities in Ohio. DRO’s advocates for legal, human, and civil rights of people with disabilities, and this is its primary mission1. The organization also offers treatment and rehabilitation services to individuals with physical or mental challenges to help them cope and find means of livelihood in the society1. To this end, Disability Rights Ohio enhances the experience of persons with disabilities by interacting with or seeking services from Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. DRO envisages a society in which persons with infirmities integrates fairly and equally, enjoy their opportunities and rights like normal individuals, relish their autonomy, make their own decisions, access all the necessary supports and services, and are not abused, exploited, neglected, or discriminated.
DRO provides rights protection and legal advocacy to a broad range of individuals with disabilities. For example, DRO always ensures that people (with disabilities) experiencing challenges, such as neglect, abuse, and abuse, have adequate access to housing, special education, employment, protection issues, community integration and assistive technology.
