The Personal Side of Ethics
I believe I am an ethical person since I can differentiate between what is right and what is wrong. Additionally, despite knowing the difference between the good and evil, I always follow the good acts. No matter the consequences or rewards in a particular action, my morals still hold to the good actions. Also, I have the necessary values of honesty, faithfulness, trustworthiness, and acquisition of the relevant responsibilities among others. Furthermore, I have a strong stand on the right actions and always defends them through educating others on its importance. Therefore, I do not need supervision for me to act in a way that is considered to be right.
My life experiences have taught me many ethical lessons. My interaction with many people and observation have been the greatest sources of the lesson. For instance, a friend of mine was fired from the job of an accountant for engaging in the fraudulent activities. He was becoming rich at a very alarming rate. He told me that he had no supervision at the workplace and hence he could manipulate the financial statements for his benefit. However, the management realized, and hence he was fired, taken to court, and some of his properties auctioned. Therefore, ethics are important for career and business growth.
There is a great difference between being ethical and being legal. Being ethical means that one has the self-drive to take actions that morally right. Ethics …
