Regarding a problem I have overcome, I can say it is shyness. I came to understand that it is caused by factors like public humiliation, shaming family, or parenting experience. Precisely, if I lack successful experience in social relations it results in shyness my age as an adult. Usually, when someone lives around bad people or interprets his or her experience negatively, then it could make the person shy. A high number of shy people are as a result of influence by social experiences like for instance; children become shy as they interact with their parents (Corey, 2017, p.13). Authoritative or overprotective parents cause children to be shy as they are not allowed to experience things, thus end up developing difficulties in gaining social skills.
When I look at how human function and their ways of interaction I can understand the structure of personality using psychodynamic ideas (Corey, 2017, p. 68). For instance, the ideas or theories inform that peoples’ behaviors and feelings are strongly affected by the unconscious motives (Corey, 2017, p 61). The unconscious mind is the primary source of behavior, and I relate this with an iceberg where the essential part is that which is not seen (Corey, 2017, p. 63).
