Telephone Technology in the Workplace
In the modern world, varieties of technologies are being used in workplaces to promote efficiency and effectiveness. One of the widely used technologies that one frequently interacts with it in a workplace is Telephone technology. Telephone technology is the use of telecommunication gadgets that allow the exchange of audio and text message information between two parties who are far apart. Telephone technology works by converting voice or sounds into signals that are electronic. Specific cables and other modern channels of communication transmits the signals from one phone to another.
A good workplace telephone should have some essential features. It should have an automatic response feature that will always make sure all the inbound calls are responded. It should also have hunt group feature where calls can be directed to respondents who are free after realizing the first respondent is busy. Other essential features include, conferencing, voicemail and speed dial and redial (“Telephone Features”).
Telephone technology can be used in many ways. Firstly, it is used to pass a message from one department to the other without movement. Secondly, telephones can be used to contact customers and any other relevant stakeholders in order to pass or receive relevant information.
