“The Asphalt Jungle” movie is about a cluster of career offenders including Dix Handley who were pulled together for a jewel heist by an immoral architect Doc Riedenschneider. Each personality in the film embodies the principles of the hopeless Criminal and consequently an entity of derision and scorn (Unruh 76). The paper will discuss how the “psychological disturbance in the perception of the world” transforms the static aspect of the movie Asphalt Jungle (1950) and the image of the American Dream.
Throughout the movie, there is evidence of the effect of “psychological disturbance in the perception of the world.” The perception of the world and the need to have huge material wealth encourages good people to commit a crime. Emmerich, a successful, smart lawyer got involved in unethical behavior and illegal activities. These major criminalities usually increase from smaller crimes or gaps in a verdict that are restructured by a skid of psychological causes (Martin n.p). Though the plan to steal the jewels had been planned well, psychological disturbance in the perception of the world kept changing the reasoning of the characters involved.
