Eye Contact
Is a form of communication that happens when people, look into each other‘s eyes at ago. Researchers argue that this form of communication has a significant impact on social behavior (Mehrabian 20). In some other cases, Eye contact demonstrates confidence, respect, and social interaction. Importance of Eye Contact
One of the most critical aspects of eye contact in communication is that it reveals our thoughts and feelings. In regards to this, the eyes reveal what we are thinking and feeling in every moment. Therefore, the eyes give us much relevant and timely information and ideas about someone‘s state. In most instances, people tend to hide such information from our body language and facial expressions. On the other hand, eye contact, is a form of simultaneous relationships, where we are not required to express ourselves as in talking.
Secondly, eye contact is crucial and essential since it demonstrates attention. The notion of providing someone an eye contact as they speak or communicate with other people is a powerful tool, which shows attention and interest to whatever that is being said. Also, it demonstrates that one respects the counterpart who is speaking, making the communication more effective.
