Optical Character Recognition
Computer input devices are becoming a necessity for businesses that intend to remain competitive in their operations. Alongside, computers are no longer a luxury in business operations but tools for understanding the dynamism and quickly, getting the business done. I find optical character recognition (OCR) as a new input device that helps in meeting day-to-day interaction between business and customer interfaces. Today, businesses do not require OCR as a tool that turns images into the electronic material but allows enterprises turn volumes of printed information into searchable electronic documents. The input device will help businesses communicate seamlessly with its upstream partners. Unlike before, OCR helps a business choose from three-dimensional displays, improved tactile displays, and higher resolution displays of the texts. For a business to succeed in their areas of operations, communication will help in designing their culture, market competitiveness, and market base. According to Maninder and Kaur (96), companies can easily integrate different aspects including market competitiveness by aligning their operations with OCR.
