In the article, “The Truth about Multitasking,” Elder talks about the idea of multitasking and how it is difficult for one to multitask. In this article, Elder discusses various ways in which multitasking is difficult to be achieved. According to him, it is rare to find people who multitask and those who think they do only shift their attention from one idea to the other (Elder 1). The article shows that people who multitask end up ruined both tasks. Sometimes, people who multitask stress their brain more and end-up stressing their brain (Alperstein 146). As much as individuals would like to do many things at a go, the mind cannot accommodate them.
In the article, “Driven to Distraction: Our Wired Generation,” Rosen explains how digitalization has contributed to the production of the new generation that is easily distracted. In their study, they noted that students in all levels of learning would only maintain focus for a small duration (Rosen 1). During the study, Rosen noted that all destruction came from technology. Students had difficulties in control both their internal and external focus. Since technology is not likely to disappear, the distraction will remain the most significant challenge among students (Alperstein 147).
