Arbitration is considered the least expensive and faster method of solving a dispute instead of heading to court. The process is part of the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) that is used in place of litigation. Arbitration tends to be more powerful than mediation whereby the decision made by the arbitrator is binding to the involved parties (Perkowski, 2016). Similarly to any profession, an arbitrator needs to undergo sufficient and special training to ensure that he or she is familiar with the law and the needs of the whole society.
One of the reasons that make it relevant for arbitrators to undergo special training is for them to be familiar with the law. The idea is for them to make decisions that do not conflict with the law. Also, it creates confidence in the individuals in need of their services when the arbitrators illustrate that they are well-acquainted with the law and what is expected of them (Perkowski, 2016).
Specialized training also enables the arbitrators to be familiar with the needs of the society. Conflicts occur in various environments which implies that the needs tend to differ. For example, the rules that govern the business environment differ when compared to rules associated with social issues such as family problems, and land disputes (Perkowski, 2016).
