In other words, the U.S Department of Defense is an executive branch of the government that directly facilitates functions of the government. The U.S Department of Defense was established by the National Security Act by the Congress in 1947; it included the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the departments of the U.S Army, U.S Navy and Coast Guard, the U.S Air Force and various agencies developed in the division CITATION USA18 l 1033 (USA.gov, 2018). With the dynamics of time, various amendments to the original act of 1947 influenced power to the secretary of defense and strengthened the coordination between defense forces in the country.
