When I was young, my stylish mum embellished my shoes with rhinestone, making them sparkle under the light with every step. I would always wish to have her make them, and the sparkling always put a smile on my face inflicting in me the desire to be a designer.
“Starting your own business,” a course I took from Fashion Institute of Technology triggered my thoughts to establish an enterprise as research for my course. My mind settled to what I always admired, creating women’s high heels with ornate embellishment like my mum used to do mine. After sleepless nights of sketching, designing and in-depth research was lucky to get a Brazilian firm for my designs, which later disappointed me for being far below expectations. The feeling of giving up got conquered by encouragements from my envisioned dad.
More research led me to small family firm south of Milan. I was surprised by the exact samples sent back from the sketches. I went to garment district immediately to start with my official designs that took me three months to have a full collection.
