Sharon despised church ever since she was little and didn’t want anything to do with going to church. To her, it was like a waste of time, and she preferred doing other things rather than going to church. Even though she was born and brought up in a Christian Catholic family, Christianity didn’t make any sense to her. At that time, they lived in Massachusetts and being born in a Christian family she was meant to attend CCD classes, but all that didn’t change anything (“Sharron’s Testimony”). She even went ahead and had a confirmation at Lutheran church. At times she would lie about being sick or even run away on Sundays to avoid going to church. To her church was a boring place where people would sit down and listen to things she could not understand.
This attitude didn’t change, and it got worse when she joined college. All she could do was to go out to parties, drink a lot and make new friends. This is what made her happy thus she was not bothered about gospel and issues concerning Christianity. All she cared about was being happy, and since there were other things he could do to be happy other than concentrating on Christianity, she focused more on those other things. Her condition was worsened by the fact that she was a science student and did a little study on humanity.
