Life Changing News
Life is full of surprises. Many times that we so badly need things to happen-things out of the ordinary. Such things sometimes happen and sometimes fails to happen. The real surprise is when our wishes come true when we least expect them. Life has its own way of doing things. Sometime back my surprise was delivered to me and since then, my life has never been the same. I will never forget that day.
Since I was young I have always wished go overseas especially Europe or America for studies. I knew, however, that my dream will never come true since my family could not afford to pay my fees let alone the upkeep. My father did not have a good job and my mother did not have any-she was just a housewife. My father was struggling to make ends meet and sometimes he did double shifts to make extra money. We hardly had three meals a day.
After I completed my high school, I took a job at a local store. I needed to make money so that I could help my father put the food on the table. I also needed save money for my college education. One morning, I was at the store mopping the just before the opening hours when the owner of the store handed me a white envelope and said, “This came for you”. I took envelop wondering who might have sent me a letter. I thought that perhaps the government was writing to inform me that I was eligible for paying tax now that I was working.
