Introduction
The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas (CBCC) prides itself as the first community-located blood center within North Carolina. The Center was created through efforts from different hospitals within Charlotte to meet the rising demands and the cost of blood. Based on the different integral strengths analyzed in the SWOT, it has achieved its goals despite the challenges.
Definition of the problem
There is a need for timely response and availability of safe blood for different healthcare systems to support the operations of CBCC.
Stakeholders
Hospitals in Charlotte have assessed the need to have safe and timely blood bank to address challenges within North Carolina. Within these operative guidelines, the SWOT analysis identified stakeholders to be the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), American’s Blood Centers (ABC), Association of Blood Banks (AABB), blood donors, blood recipients and healthcare providers within North Carolina. The stakeholders will help enhance strengths identified in the SWOT. For instance, the SWOT recognized that CBCC has medical experts who work to achieve the goals of successful blood transfusion.
Alternative solutions
