American Express Company which has its headquarters in New York is a reputable global financial services provider. The company appeared in “Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work for” for two consecutive years in 2017 and 218. The company was ranked number 23 in 2018 and 69 in 2017. The company faces stiff completion in the credit card space. Its major competitor is Discover Financial Services (DFS). DFS was not ranked as the best company to work for by Fortune magazine both in 2018 and 2017. Both companies offer financial services through the use of credit cards and have similar business models.
