To become accepted in VCOM is not only a very important step in my professional life, rather it can fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor who is actually philanthropic by heart at the end of the day. Therefore, I would like to explain myself through my experience as a science teacher in a title one school as I feel that more than any qualifications, letters of recommendations or lists of achievements; it is the best quality to make a difference that is a prerequisite for becoming a good doctor.
After completing my science degree I chose to work in a title one school as I found out that children in such a setting are a second generation immigrants who grew up in poverty. As the head of the department, I dealt not only with teaching but also with management related issues and the work kept me on my toes. Anyway, I managed to keep my interest in the overall development of a student. There was a 16-year-old who seemed to be quite interested in learning, so I made an extra effort to arrange after school teaching sessions for him. It was smooth sailing for about four months but then there was a dip in the boy’s attendance and he showed symptoms like mood swings, irritability and violent behavior.
