Site Preparation
For efficient site preparation for servers and printers, a consideration on-site preparation should ensure aisle space and airflow. Studies have recognized that the site should provide the needed room at the back and front of racks and cabinets so that the servers and printers will have unobstructed servicing and unobstructed passage of workers (Ali & Miller, 2017). Since the site will cover other hardware installations, the physical location requires consideration of airflow to ensure there are exhaust and intake of air, especially to the location’s data center. Both the aisle space and airflow will provide cooling of the printers, servers, and other hardware.
User Preparation
Site audit: site users should be engaged in a succinct review of the site that includes assessment of the data center environment, being at abreast with the printers, servers, and other hardware.
System installation specifications and use: users should be able to map out the functionalities and systems’ installation requirements, verify that tasks on the servers and other hardware are configured and that these tasks can be executed effectively.
Training on ways in which site redundancy, flexibility, and expandability can extend user working experience and quick response to mission-critical software and or hardware.
