Abstract.
Social identity involves individuals’ sense of who they ought to be based on the groups that they are in. The most important group that a person can belong to is a family or a kinship group. A parent does not formulate the family of an individual either do the brothers or sisters. What formulates an individual’s real family is the sense of belonging with the people. Being free and able to do anything without the fear of receiving negative judgments is the family that everyone yearns for — a place where the will receive unlimited support to do anything that they want without any restrictions. A sense of belonging comes when a person sees the other groups where he/she does not belong to as inferior groups with no significant thing that is more than the groups that they are in. It is also evident that once people belong to a group that they are socially stable with, the start looking for mistakes to disqualify and discriminate the validity of the other groups so that they can improve their self-image. Social identity involves the life that the person is used to, the friends, the way of socialization, the culture and the associations and interactions in the presence of the person.
