A Cortical reflection
Some behaviours and actions are generally considered to be feminine weaknesses that can hinder men’s career progression. Since cultures differ, a person is torn between expressing revealing true personal identity and concealing some personal attributes to show conformity to the ideals of the workplace. Notably, the former that can turn out to be a recipe for chaos and lead to a portrayal of a negative image. That is to say, amidst a highly diverse workplace, a person is tasked with acting as both a thought leader and follower.
Direct or indirect expression of attributes that are typically associated with female gender including extreme emotions, familial attachments, and vulnerability can trigger perceptions of incompetency in a gender-polarized society (Yoshino & Smith 8). Similarly, omitting, dismissing and demonizing some personal attributes is vital for the avoidance of exclusion, isolation as well as an accusation. In light of this, a decision to avoid expressing anger against ethnic profiling and showing concern for gender affirmative actions and support for physically disabled is an attempt of blurring personal identity attributes that do not conform to the popular culture. Such expressions, coupled with a disinterest in politics enables an individual to suit the expectations of the workplace context.
