Signal intelligence plays a crucial role in the fight against extremism across the globe. Signal intelligence (SIGINT) infers collection of intelligence through interception of human communication or electronic transmission. The platform allows for secure transmission of data through encryption and later decrypted for safe transmission. The system portends immense potential in curbing and stopping extremist operations across the globe. Signal intelligence enable enforcement officers to track the location of extremist groups, effectively reducing human losses through direct combat. Proper location identification enables the use of drones to evaluate the existence of non-extremists in their camps. Signal intelligence enables authorities to decipher extremist organization plans. Interception of communication among extremists’ individuals provides details of their future plans, recruitment, structure, and leaders (Aid, & Wiebes, 2001). Intercepting calls on planned attacks enables the government to avert the incidence, thus saving lives and property. Similarly, it helps in the identification of their potential revenue streams, such as the lucrative charcoal sale by Al-Shabaab, which was targeted to reduce their influence.
