Ideological Perspectives of Population-Specific Policy
The selected population is a vulnerable youth facing many challenges due to the lack of employment opportunities. Vulnerable youth refers to young people weak and poorly defended (Arora et al., 2015). These young people can be vulnerable in terms of the inability to meet basic needs, abuse, neglect or exploitation. At the same time, they may be people who are not able to access quality education or health care services in the society. Moreover, the number of such young persons is on the rise, calling for their protection.
Observably, some state and federal policies target young people, especially vulnerable youth. Youth Build Transfer Act is one of the federal social policies aimed at assisting young people. It anticipates to provide educational opportunities as well as job training services to low-income young people in the USA (Fernandes-Alcantara, 2012). The Grand for State and Community programs that aims at providing comprehensive services to young people at both federal and state levels is second federal policy. Additionally, New York has some policies for vulnerable young people.
