Since the 9/11 attack, it is harder to be a Muslim in the US than it was before the attack and there has been a deterioration in the acceptance of Muslims by the Americans. The Muslims in America have faced have been facing discrimination and heightened scrutiny since their culture and religion became a subject of debate. Some Muslims have even been receiving death threats from the Americans, and the situation has not been made any better by some politicians who have been spreading Anti-Muslim campaign messages. Some Americans have even rejected construction of mosques in their communities, and some have engaged in hate crimes such as destruction of religious sites. Additionally, even the law enforcers, for instance, the New York Police department has been racially profiling the Muslim. They have done so by posing as undercover agents with the aim of infiltrating community centers, mosques, and other areas where Muslims exist in large numbers.
The promotion of peaceful coexistence between the Muslims and other Americans cannot be achieved by a single group but through a partnership between the American administration official and the Muslim leaders. The leaders have fought for the cessation of racial and religious profiling and also the protection of the immigrant communities.
