Ethical standards are the moral values that project the going concerns of a business enterprise. Therefore, breaching of ethical codes in an organization could result in the process of pending moral values of operation among the stakeholders of within the entity. For instance, the Google employees’ scenario presents an ethical dilemma regarding transparency and the failure to involve their employees in developing the ethical codes within the organization. This scenario is captured in a letter that the Google employees are seeking to be included to participate in the ethical reviews of the company’s products.
In my opinion, Google acted unfairly to the employees because they deserve to be part of the operations and ethical codes in the organization. I think that employees have the right to understand the core operations within the company. In this case, the Google employees seek for transparency from the company as they need to be aware of their ethical considerations while undertaking their tasks. Transparency is a moral issue that companies need to maintain not only the employees but also to other stakeholders. When there is a lack of transparency, it can affect the efficiency and the image of Google. Failing to disclose such relevant information is a compromise on the ethical requirements of the business, and the employees deserve to be heard….
