Dictators Can Control Everything in a Country
In many instances, dictators usually rise to power by being elected through a democratic process. Then the person interferes with the political system or the rule of law in a way that he gains all the power and tries to push away those may attempt to take away the power. In this way, it becomes possible for one to rule without others questioning him and thus maintain total power over the subject. This is the case manifested in “Animal Farm” by George Orwell. The author shows us how the pigs came to assume leadership and thus became the dictators, “The pigs did not actually work, but directed and supervised the others. With their superior knowledge it was natural that they should assume the leadership.”(Orwell 12) In this context, I will delve into an argument that dictators can control everything in a country.
In support of the argument, we come across Mr. Jones who is the sole owner of the animal farm. He has a total control over the animals, and we can term him as a dictator. He uses force and rules them without questioning. A rebellion instigated by old Major sermon’s builds up. And two pig, Snowball, and Napoleon become the leaders after overthrowing Mr. Jones. The pigs become the leaders of the farm to the extent of writing seven commandments.
