Law Enforcement Training On Mental Disorder
Mental disorder is a significant issue that affects many people in the population. As such, training the law enforcement team on how to deal with such individuals is an essential aspect if they encounter such cases. According to Ingram, Laan, & Glidden (53), law enforcement in America has started identifying mental health as a significant issue that affects the police department due to challenges of responding to such cases. On the other hand, the current training undergone by the police appears ineffective due to violent incidences that arise when dealing with autistic and special needs suspects. As such, the implementation of new specialized programs will be significant in educating officers on responsive strategies when handling autistic and special needs suspects.
