Framing Contests
Introduction
Framing contests are defined as a model applicable in locating a middle ground by comparing between the political and the cognitive models that help in formulating of strategies (Kaplan, 730).
At this point, the frames might serve the function of resources and constraints.
The outcomes of these contests define the best action plan that would serve a meaningful purpose for the society.
The scenario of framing contests is the global health for the Ebola crisis and the issue of food sovereignty.
However, the focus will be on the issue of food sovereignty.
A framework is a structure that works to support the formulation of policies in different systems.
Considering the different views of farming that exists such as the micro-view and coalition building, the best that suits the food sovereignty issue is the micro view (Kaplan, 732).
The micro view explores an issue through the observation of the strategies that successful individuals used in making strategic decisions when faced with issues within their docket.
Using the micro-view model, the issue of food sovereignty can be explored from successful economies point of view.
Considering that there are regions across the world that have curbed the food problem, it is significant to explore the need for food justice and planting of flex crops to help meet the demands of the increasing world population (Alonso-Fradejas et al., 433)….
